Farmers Conference held at Joypurhat
Jaipurhat Dairy Farmers Association organized “Farmer Conference-2022” on 27th August 2022 at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium of the district with more than four hundred dairy farmers associated with dairy and animal nutrition industry of dairy sector.
Director General of Animal Resources Department Dr. Manzoor Mohammad Shahzada was present as the chief guest in the conference. Presided over by Mr. Anwar Parvez, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jaipurhat.

Various aspects of marginal farmers' problems, prospects and development programs of the present government came up in the event. Marginal farmers feel that it is now necessary to market milk under its own brand in general. The speaker expressed the opinion that as the country's dairy industry will develop, farmers can benefit financially at the marginal level. On the other hand, they expressed hope that consumers will also be able to taste milk at a lower price.
The Central Committee officials of Bangladesh Dairy Farmers Association (BDFA) present at the conference agreed with the farmers on this issue. They said that soon BDFA will create its own brand of milk and milk products for farmers across the country and start selling them in the retail market.
In the speech of the chief guest, Dr. Manzoor Mohammad Shahzada said that the present government is working sincerely to reduce the price of animal feed. He said, if the farmer survives, the country will survive. He assured the farmers of full cooperation to build a brand and expressed the hope of being by their side through thick and thin.
The chief guest also said, "In order to increase the production of quality milk and meat, the service is being delivered to the door to door of the farmers. For this purpose, the government has undertaken several projects. After achieving self-sufficiency in animal feed ourselves, we will look at exports abroad.”
Mr. Shadman Alif Meem Raihan, proprietor of Aranya Agro, was recently honored as the 'Dairy Icon' at the conference. Apart from this, a total of ten people were awarded in the ceremony, including a virtuoso, a journalist and four successful farmers.
